Academic Qualification
Minimum bachelor’s degree in any Engineering fields or equivalent.
Requirements
- Malaysian citizenship
- Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Must possess excellent relationship skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to understand business objectives and develop coordinated communications plans and/or initiatives to support those objectives.
- Must be an energetic self-starter who possesses leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem solving, planning, and organizational skills along with an attention to detail.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum three (3) years of working experience in clean energy industry, preferably in business strategy, project development, project finance, financial modelling, and data analytics roles.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge in new energy business opportunities and business environment analysis.
- Experience in business development or project development, including project finance for greenfield power projects or mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of brownfield assets.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial assessment, risk assessment, due diligence exercise and preparing comprehensive project commercial proposal.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex commercial information to various level of audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and meet their expectations.
- Good presentation skills, including preparing presentation slides contents.
Experience Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of the power generation industry, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and technological trends.
- High degree of understanding on Power Purchase Agreement and relevant contracts.
- Strong knowledge of business development and project development processes, with a focus on identifying and evaluating new opportunities.
- Strong knowledge in performing commercial assessment, due diligence exercise and risk assessment.
- Basic understanding of financial management and accounting principles.
- Extensive knowledge on business intelligence and market research related to new opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and come out with comprehensive commercial project proposal.
- Basic knowledge managing various stakeholder expectations and needs.
- Must possess experience in Power plant operations or construction. Must also possess experience in project financing and construction of a project.
Accountability & Responsibility
- Assist the superior in exploring, identifying, and evaluating new energy related business opportunities (i.e. hydrogen, ammonia, fuel cell, floating solar photovoltaic, energy storage, CCUS, SMR etc.), from initiation through the planning phase.
- Conduct initial financial / commercial screening on new opportunities or potential projects.
- Prepare project concept notes and feasibility studies.
- Conduct detailed commercial due diligence on potential projects, including financial and risk assessments.
- Evaluate the commercial feasibility and viability of projects.
- Identify potential technical challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare concept papers on new asset opportunity (related to commercial) and obtain necessary approval from relevant approval authority.
- Perform periodic update on new energy project opportunity to the Management.
- Propose suitable relevant project advisors panel for the project development exercise. Develop strategic partnerships with technology providers and consultants.
- Perform preliminary appraisal for strategic fit and potential partner. Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with advisors, partners, and contractors for the project.
- Assist the superior to develop bidding strategy encompassing structure, funding, legal, and commercial.
- Closely monitor and report the progress of projects during initiative and planning stage.
- Implement effective stakeholder engagement and relationship-building strategies with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong networks with business partners.
- Asist the superior to prepare project status updates / presentation material, management updates, Management reports, or information deck, etc. as needed, including external parties.
Support Function
- Execute engagement and relationship-building activities with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong networks with business partners.
- Provide assurance to stakeholders of risk exposures and effectiveness of mitigations.
- Demonstrates full commitment to HSE principles, fostering a safe and conducive work environment, and ensuring strict adherence to all HSE procedures and internal guidelines.
- Manage and maintain elements of Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001) and other management system standards based on roles and functions as and when required to meet the ISO standard requirements in order to achieve Genco's policies and objectives.
