Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent) from universities recognised by the Government of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) / Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) / Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC)).
- Preferred Education: Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or aspecialization in energy management.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of working experiences with 2 years’ experience in hydro or other Renewable Energy projects.
- Preferred Exposure: Project Planning & Development, Specification, Tender, Hydro Project / other Renewable Energy Project Implementation, Regulatory, OSHE,Scheduling and Tracking
- Experience in project development field e.g. project finance for greenfield power projects or mergers & acquisition (M&A) of brownfield assets.
- Experience in business development or project development, including project finance for greenfield power projects or mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of brownfield assets.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong stakeholder management skills,including the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and meet their expectations.
Accountability & Responsibility
Market Research and Opportunity Identification
- To support the analysis of market trends, evaluate competitor activities, and identify emerging opportunities within the small hydroelectric sector.
- To support the identification of potential project locations, partnerships, and business models for small hydroelectric development.
- To support the development of business cases for new projects, including feasibility assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement
- To support the establishment and nurturing relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, investors, and industry partners.
- To support the collaboration with local communities and other stakeholders to secure project acceptance and support.
Project Development Support
- To support the collaboration with engineering, finance, and project management teams during project initiation and planning phases.
- To support the feasibility studies, risk assessments, and preliminary designs to assess project viability.
Strategic Planning and Execution
- To support the development and implementation of strategies aimed at achieving business development objectives in the small hydroelectric sector.
- Monitor progress of initiatives and recommend improvements to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Proposal and Documentation Preparation
- To support the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and business plans for potential partners and stakeholders.
- To support the accuracy and timely documentation of project details, contracts, and agreements.
Sustainability and Compliance
- To support all business activities, align with environmental, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Promote sustainability and community engagement in small hydroelectric project development.
HSE Management
- To support full commitment to HSE principles, fostering a safe and conducive work environment, and ensuring strict adherence to all HSE procedures and internal guidelines.
- To prioritize safety and health by adhering to all relevant legislation and actively participating in creating a safe working environment. Promptly report any unsafe acts or conditions through the HSE wallet (Potential Incident) system.
Quality & ISO Management
- Ensure the project adheres to agreed-upon quality standards and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain elements of Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001 etc.) and other management system standards based on roles and functions as and when required to meet the ISO standard requirements.
