Education and Knowledge

• Degree in Civil Engineering (Master in Geotechnical Engineering would be anadvantage)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 12-15 years working experience in civil engineering (Geotechnical). 
• Proven track record in design, construction and rehabilitation of slopes, damrepairs, foundation design, tunnels, earthworks, ground improvement works andland reclamation projects.
• Experience in both consultancy and site/project execution environments.
• Registered Professional Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) orequivalent regulatory body.
• Proficient in relevant software such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, FLAC, MIDAS GTS NX,GeoStudio, AutoCAD.
• Experience in development of project/engineering design concept, drawings andtechnical specifications.
• Familiar with the applicable engineering codes and standards (e.g., MS, JKR specs)and international guidelines (e.g., Eurocode, BS, AASHTO)
• Well-versed in geotechnical investigation planning and interpretation of soil/rockdata.
• Experience in dealing, communicates and collaborates with a diverse range ofinternal and external stakeholders.
• Very good knowledge of geotechnical engineering.
• Substantial experience in project development, management, and site supervision.
• Knowledge in costs & estimates for civil, geotechnical, tunnel repair works.
• Safety awareness and safety consciousness in dealing with geotechnical works.

Accountability & Responsibility

General: - 
-Managing, monitoring and controlling the effectiveness of Departmental / Unit annual OPEX / CAPEX expenses and resource allocation as well as identifying opportunities for cost optimization and resource reallocation to support strategic priorities. 
-Managing the development and implementation of a comprehensive competency framework and training program aligned with current and future business needs, fostering a highly skilled and adaptable workforce.
-Managing, monitoring and controlling the performance of Departmental / Unit Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and providing regular status report updates to excel the department's achievements and goals.  
-Oversee and ensure compliance with Risk Management and Governance Procedures is practiced within the Department by company policy. Review the Company/Department Risk Register Master List bi-annually.
-Effective role in implementing, monitoring and controlling all ISO Standards in Genco. Manage and maintain elements of Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 37001, ISO 9001) and other management system standards based on roles and functions as and when required to meet the ISO standard requirements in order to achieve Genco’s policies and objectives. 

Planning and Engineering: - 
-Participate in the various feasibility, site assessment and facility assessment studies.
-Provide technical advice in preliminary works for the project i.e. Soil Investigation and Survey Works.
-Preparations of tender documents for engineering services required for geotechnical including specifications, Bill of Quantities, concept design, and all related tender documents for engineering services and major and minor projects required for power plants including co-ordinations, technical advice during construction and monitoring of projects during implementations including new Renewable Energy.
-Assist in the site preparation works (civil engineering related).

Procurement: - 
-Assist in the evaluation of tender/offers by the Contractors including preparing the evaluation reports and recommendations. 

Construction: - 
-Review drawing/document submissions within the time specified in the Contract to ensure compliance with the Specifications and Contract Documents.
-Liaise with various parties to ensure smooth running of the project.
-To perform/review Factory Acceptance Tests.

Consultancy: - 
-Provide engineering technical support & consultancies throughout plant lifecycle (new projects and existing plants) to external and internal clients.

Maintenance Support: -
-Provide support to respective plant regarding civil maintenance issues requested by stations and other departments.
