Education and Knowledge
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
2. Knowledge of relevant standards and requirements for power plant operational and design.
3. Knowledge of power plant layout, components, processes, and operational procedures.
4. Understanding of the design, implementation, testing, installation, and operation of simulator systems.
5. Knowledge of physical modelling techniques for power plants and foundational concepts in thermodynamics, heat and mass balance, and heat transfer.
6. Proficiency in data-driven modelling for power plants using machine learning methods.
7. Familiarity with various programming environments such as Jupyter Notebook, Visual Studio, Apache Spark, etc., and programming languages like Python, C, and SQL.
8. Knowledge of business and financial management, encompassing budgeting, audits, stakeholder relations, asset oversight, and personnel management.
9. Understanding supply chain management principles and practices.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in power plant operation, simulation, process engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in power plant operations, analysis, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Proficiency with model development and simulation software, including Simulink, Visual Studio, Jupyter Notebook, and others.
- Demonstrated ability to interact, communicate, and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Fresh graduates with experience in developing physical or machine learning models for power plant applications are encouraged to apply.

Accountability & Responsibility
• Strategic Master Planning: Assist IM to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive annual master plans and strategies to ensure the effective execution of competency development activities, simulator project development, simulator asset management, plant modeling development, and plant improvement projects.
• Simulation Center Management: Assist IM to ensure the high availability and functionality of the CCGT simulation center and provide solutions for developing full-fledged power plant simulation engineering for both new and legacy plants within TNB GENCO.
• Financial Management and Analysis: Assist IM to manage budgets allocated for simulation project development, maintenance, upgrades, and conduct cost-benefit analyses (CBA) to determine the financial viability of simulator development or upgrades.
• Annual Budget Management: Assist IM in developing comprehensive annual OPEX & CAPEX proposals, engaging in internal budget challenge meetings to obtain budget approval, ensuring accurate entry of approved budgets into ERMS, performing budget transfers if required, and continuously monitoring budget utilization.
• Simulator Development: Assist IM in planning, designing, developing, testing, installing, commissioning, and customizing power plant simulator systems that accurately replicate plant operations.
• Simulation Performance Validation: Validate the simulator performance in accordance with international standards and guidelines, including ANSI/ISA S77.20 Fossil Fuel Power Plant Simulators and ASME Performance Test Codes (PTC).
• Simulator O&M: Responsible for the operation, maintenance, testing, and diagnostics of CCGT power plant simulators to ensure optimum functionality by identifying deficiencies, tracking issues, and performing necessary corrective actions.
• Technical Services: Provide technical services and support related to simulator development, plant modeling, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
• Consultancy: Provide consultancy services and technical advice related to simulator development and competency development activities for TNB GENCO and its customers.
• R&D: Manage resources for the research and development (R&D) of plant modeling, simulation, and prediction applications based on either a physical or data-driven approach.
• Review: Regularly review current progress and proactively identify areas for improvement in the simulation project, plant modeling development, simulator system operations, and maintenance.
• Safety: Demonstrates full commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles, fostering a safe and conducive work environment, and ensuring strict adherence to all HSE procedures and internal guidelines.
• Management System: Maintain elements of the Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001) and other management system standards, as required, based on roles and functions, to achieve Genco’s policies and objectives.
• Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws, statutory requirements, internal guidelines, procedures, and industry best practices, and implement necessary control measures to maintain compliance.
