Education and Knowledge

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from universities recognised by the Government of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) / Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) / Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC)) 
2. Possess a fundamental understanding of protection relays, battery systems and their maintenance, electrical systems, and power systems engineering.
3. Familiar with Electricity Supply Acts 1990 & Regulations 1994 and other relevant Acts.
4. Familiar with TNB REMACO business and activities.
5. Exhibit strong analytical skills, proficiency in technology and digitalization, knowledge of maintenance best practices, and a foundational understanding of finance and accounting.

Experience Requirements

1. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
2. Working experience/internship in power generation industry especially in operation, maintenance, or engineering roles is an advantage.
3. Academic and practical experience with a wide array of new technologies, products/services selection methodologies.
4. Experience in dealing, communicates and collaborates with a diverse range of internal and external parties.
5. Possesses exceptional written and oral communication skills.
6. Demonstrates proficiency in developing professional-quality PowerPoint presentations and other Microsoft Office application.

Accountability & Responsibility

Technical Scopes 

• Perform protection relay test, transformer guards test, battery discharge test, and grid code compliance test along with all associated protection and reliability tests in power plants or relevant industries.
• Perform relay settings calculations, coordination studies, and fault analysis for electrical systems.
• Provide technical support for operations and maintenance teams regarding electrical protection and reliability issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting. 
• Comply with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, etc.) and customer requirements. 
• Develop and update technical documentation and test procedures. 
• Collaborate with other departments in TNB REMACO to provide technical expertise during system design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure that all test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to meet required standards. 
• Prepare and submit a comprehensive technical report upon completion of testing, detailing the procedures, results, observations, and recommendations in a timely manner. 
• Attend any meetings (e.g., unit, management, technical, outage management, etc.) as instructed by the Senior Engineer. 
• Recommend relevant training courses to the Senior Engineer for subordinates to enhance their skills and competencies. 
• Demonstrate and encourage staff to demonstrate personal integrity and high ethics when delivering work.

Commercial Scopes 

• Advise the Senior Engineer on the costs and resources required for all assigned tasks.
• Monitor the costs of all assigned tasks to ensure they remain within the planned budget. 
• Propose CAPEX items to the Senior Engineer, accompanied by a clear and compelling justification.

Safety & Regulatory

• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws, statutory requirements, internal guidelines, procedures, and industry best practices, implementing necessary control measures to maintain compliance. 
• Conducting Hazard Identification (HIRADC) at the site location before starting the task and prepare HIRADC documentation. 
• Demonstrates full commitment to HSE principles, fostering a safe and conducive work environment, and ensuring strict adherence to all HSE procedures and internal guidelines. 
• Oversee, manage, and maintain elements of Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 37001, ISO 9001) and other management system standards based on roles and functions as and when required to achieve TNB REMACO policies and objectives.

Confidentiality & Compliance 

• Ensure that all technical documentation, designs, test results, and system configurations remain confidential and are not shared externally or internally without prior approval from the Immediate Manager (IM) or other designated authority. 
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding the handling and protection of sensitive information, intellectual property, and operational data. 
• Maintain compliance with data security protocols and industry standards to prevent unauthorized disclosure of technical information.
