Education and Knowledge

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from universities recognised by the Government of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
2. Bachelor’s master in Business Administration / Engineering Management or equivalent fields would be an advantage.
3. Familiar with power plant operation and maintenance activities.
4. Familiar with plant Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), generating license and service delivery requirements.
5. Fair knowledge in relevant law and statutory requirements for power plant operation.
6. Familiar with project management methodology and execution.
7. Demonstrates a strong foundation in power plant Mechanical systems, ability to interpret technical drawings and effectively troubleshoot plant issues.
8. Strong knowledge on mechanical international standards (i.e. ASME, ASTM, ISO etc.)

Experience Requirements

1. Minimum eight (8) years of working experience with preference at least five (5) yearsin Mechanical related works or equivalent.
2. Experience in managing various Mechanical major and minor maintenance activities.
3. Demonstrates a proven track record in conducting comprehensive engineering andfeasibility studies for Mechanical works improvement projects.
4. Experience in dealing, communicates and collaborates with a diverse range of internaland external stakeholders (eg. DOSH)
5. Must be an energetic self-starter who possesses leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
6. Possess excellent relationship skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectivelywith individuals at all levels of the organization.

Accountability & Responsibility

Mechanical - Boiler Maintenance

• Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Boiler & Balance of Plant (BOP)maintenance strategy that includes preventive, predictive, corrective, andemergency maintenance activities.
• Ensure the effective execution of Boiler & BOP maintenance activities andcompliance with all relevant maintenance policies, O&M manuals, benchmarkingpractices, and regulatory requirements.
• Review major outage scope related to Boiler & BOP maintenance and ensuresmooth outage implementation within approved timelines, cost and requiredquality.
• Ensure a robust inventory management system in place to effectively track andmonitor Boiler & BOP critical spare parts, insurance items, and fast-movinginventory.
• Oversee and monitor the utilization of approved annual budgets for OPEX andCAPEX related to Boiler & BOP maintenance, ensuring optimal allocation andeffective use within specified timelines. Implement corrective actions as needed tomaintain budget efficiency.
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders involved inBoiler & BOP matters, providing assurance regarding risk exposures and theeffectiveness of mitigation strategies.
• Thoroughly review and validate technical documents, including bills of quantities,engineering drawings, and specifications, prior to initiating theprocurement process.
