Senior Engineer– Wind

Mission (Sources of Values)

To manage execution of wind technical studies and ensure outputs meet NED’s performance, risk, and bankability requirements.

Accountability & Responsibility

•Perform WindPro / WAsP modelling and wake loss analysis.
•Support micrositing and layout optimisation.
•Analyse terrain, wind shear, and extreme wind conditions.
•Support offshore wind data and structural assessments.
•Prepare technical risk registers and mitigation plans
•Support technical due diligence and lender reviews.

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy, Civil, Aerospace, or related discipline). Postgraduate qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Professional engineering registration or relevant industry certification is preferred but not essential.

Experience Requirements

  • Malaysian citizenship
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in wind energy engineering, wind resource assessment, or turbine technology within utility-scale wind projects.
  • Practical experience in wind resource assessment, energy yield modelling, wake analysis, and loss/uncertainty evaluation using industry-standard tools.
  • Experience supporting project development, technical due diligence, or engineering studies for onshore and/or offshore wind projects.
  • Exposure to turbine technology evaluation, OEM interactions, and performance analysis during project development or operations.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams including development, engineering, grid, and commercial functions.
  • Familiarity with offshore wind considerations such as metocean data, structural interfaces, and grid integration is an advantage.
