Title

Senior Engineer– Solar & BESS

Reporting To

Technical Experts – Solar & BESS

Mission (Sources of Values)

To manage execution and quality assurance of solar PV and BESS technical assessments, ensuring outputs are investment-grade, consistent with NED standards, and ready for decision-making.

Accountability & Responsibility

•Perform and review PVsyst modelling and energy yield assessments.
•Analyse system losses, degradation, curtailment, and sensitivity scenarios.
•Support BESS sizing, use-case modelling, and lifecycle performance analysis.
•Review OEM and EPC technical proposals.Support grid compliance and interconnection technical inputs.
•Coordinate with Commercial Solutions on financial modelling assumptions.
•Prepare technical inputs for bids, IC papers, and DD reports.

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy, Civil, Aerospace, or related discipline). Postgraduate qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Professional engineering registration or relevant industry certification is preferred but not essential.

Experience Requirements

  • Malaysian citizenship
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in solar/BESS/co-located solar & BESS energy, renewable energy engineering, or related technical roles within utility-scale or large commercial and industrial projects.
  • Practical experience in solar and BESS system design, including energy yield modelling, system sizing, performance analysis and familiarity with industry tools such as PVSyst, HomerPro or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience supporting project development, technical due diligence, or engineering studies for solar and BESS projects.
  • Exposure to solar and BESS technology evaluation, OEM interactions, and performance analysis during project development or operations.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams including development, engineering, grid, and commercial functions.
  • Familiarity with solar PV plant components and/or BESS plant components or grid integration is an advantage.
