Education and Knowledge

•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering or equivalent.
•    Possesses a strong understanding of power plant operations and maintenance activities.
•    Possesses a strong foundation in power purchase agreements (PPAs), generating licenses, and service delivery requirements as well as other operational agreements (i.e. OMA, TOMA, GOMA etc.)
•    Fair knowledge in relevant law and statutory requirements for power plant operation.
•    Demonstrates a strong knowledge of plant operation, outage management, plant performance and commercial.

Experience Requirements

1.    Minimum eight (8) years of working experience with preference at least five (5) years in plant operation & performance, and maintenance activities.
2.    Possesses experience in managing power plant operation and handling in accordance with PPA/SLA, license conditions and service delivery requirements.
3.    Possesses experience in managing plant commercial and performance.
4.    Proven experience in managing and analyzing large datasets related to power plant performance.
5.    Experience in dealing, communicates and collaborates with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
6.    Expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI etc.)
7.    Demonstrated experience in creating and presenting technical reports and dashboards to both technical and non-technical audiences.
 

Accountability & Responsibility

Operational Planning:
•    Support IM in providing technical and commercial input, based on supporting data ana analysis, to support TNB Genco's strategic plan.
•    Review short and medium-term operational planning cycles that integrate maintenance schedules for all TNB Genco plants. 
•    Forecast capacity payment risks, and support technical and commercial fuel variance risks, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
•    Facilitate and coordinate KPI target setting and performance tracking for Asset Operations and Management (AOM). 
•    Coordinate and facilitate Asset Operation Management Business Review sessions and performance discussions with power stations.
Performance Analytics & Forecasting:
•    Support IM in implementing strategies for monitoring and analyzing the performance for the entire fleets and transforming operational data into actionable insights through statistical analysis.
•    Support IM in making a forecast and analyzing commercial operational data to support informed decision-making
•    Perform regular analysis on core operational metrics and prepare updates to senior management such as Capacity Payment Reduction/Loss, Technical Fuel Variance, Commercial Coal Variance, Demurrage Costs, and Equivalent Unplanned Outage Factor (EUOF). Identify opportunities for performance improvement.
•    Develop predictive models and analytic tools for forecasting plant performance and revenue risks.
•    Utilize advanced statistical and data analysis techniques to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of performance deviations.
Reporting & Compliance:
•    Design and maintain dynamic dashboards using tools like Power Point and Power BI. 
•    Automate data collection from GOMS/SAP systems toward digitalization practices.
•    Prepare regular technical reports and provide executive briefings on operational performance to IM as if required.  
•    Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of all performance reports.
•    Optimize plant performance by ensuring full compliance with regulatory, PPA/SLA and Grid Code requirements. Closely monitor action plans for operational issues.
Support Function:
    Support TNB Genco's strategic objectives, including EBIT uplift, turnaround projects, and GERCOM initiatives.
    Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws, statutory requirements, internal guidelines, procedures, and industry best practices, implementing necessary control measures to maintain compliance.
    Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders involved in Operation matters, providing assurance regarding risk exposures and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.
    Demonstrates full commitment to HSE principles, fostering a safe and conducive work environment, and ensuring strict adherence to all HSE procedures and internal guidelines.
    Maintain elements of Genco Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001) and other management system standards based on roles and functions as and when required to achieve Genco’s policies and objectives.
