Accountability & Responsibility
- Provide strategic legal advisory, opinions, research, and guidance to management and business units on renewable energy project development, corporate and commercial transactions (domestic and cross‑border), and corporate governance, ensuring legal risks are properly identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on corporate, commercial, operational, and renewable energy–related agreements, including but not limited to, PPAs, bilateral energy supply contracts, joint venture and consortium agreements, sale and purchase and shareholders agreements, collaboration agreements, MOUs, land agreements, project financing, and service and operational agreements.
- Coordinate, advise, and provide legal support in accordance with regulatory requirements, and company governance processes for bidding exercises, corporate and commercial transactions, and mergers and acquisitions related to renewable energy projects.
- Manage and coordinate dispute matters and complex transactions, including engagement and supervision of external legal counsel where specialised legal expertise is required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain legal policies, standard templates, and contract management including accurate legal documentation record-keeping.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing on legal matters, applicable laws, compliance requirements, and contract awareness.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure legal compliance, sound governance, and proactive risk mitigation across all business activities.

Education and Knowledge
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Honours (LLB. Hons) from an institution recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- Admission to the Bar or equivalent legal qualification would be an added advantage. Strong understanding of corporate and commercial transactions for renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks governing renewable energy, power generation, and infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with corporate governance practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Understanding of project development processes including land agreements, regulatory approvals, infrastructure contracts, supply and services contracts and project financing.
Certifications

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years’ post‑qualification experience as an in‑house corporate counsel and/or practicing corporate lawyer.
- Experience in line with the job scope, particularly within renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, energy and utilities, or corporate and commercial transactions.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on corporate and commercial contracts and project‑related agreements.
- Experience supporting project development activities and/or corporate and commercial transactions.
- Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively.
