Education and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accountancy or other relevant disciplines from universities recognised by the Government of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) / Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) / Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC)).
• Relevant professional certifications in auditing, engineering, accounting, information systems, project management or related disciplines (e.g. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (Ir./PE), or equivalent) would be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant working experience, preferably in the power generation, utilities, energy or other related industries.
• Experience in internal audit, risk management, compliance, plant operations, maintenance, projects or other relevant disciplines.
• Experience in engaging and collaborating with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in preparing reports and presenting findings, insights and recommendations to senior management, committees or the Board.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver quality outcomes within established timelines
• Knowledge of power generation, utilities, energy or other related industries, including applicable regulatory and operational requirements.
• Knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, projects, asset management or other relevant operational functions.
• Knowledge of financial management and commercial principles.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and statutory requirements relevant to the organisation's operations.
• Knowledge of internal audit principles, methodologies and practices.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management and internal control frameworks, including the COSO Framework and the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).

Accountability & Responsibility

• Plan and execute internal audit engagements in accordance with the approved annual audit plan and established audit methodology.
• Review the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, validate audit evidence and assess key business processes within the scope of assigned audit engagements.
• Review compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, procedures, contractual obligations and industry best practices.
• Identify operational, financial and compliance risks, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen internal controls and business processes.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive audit reports, including audit findings, recommendations and management action plans.
• Monitor, follow up and validate the implementation of agreed management action plans to ensure timely and effective resolution of audit findings.
• Perform internal quality assessments and support the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) to promote conformance with the Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Support internal and external audit activities by coordinating audit requirements, facilitating engagements and monitoring the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
• Maintain complete, accurate and confidential audit documentation in accordance with record management requirements and professional standards.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with management, auditees and other assurance providers to facilitate audit activities and promote effective governance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance audit methodologies, improve audit processes and increase the effectiveness of the Internal Audit function.
• Ensure all audit activities are conducted in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, Global Internal Audit Standards, applicable professional requirements and TNB Genco policies
