Prepare and submit innovative architectural design solutions and products that meet and exceed project briefs/ end-user requirements, adopting the latest architectural design principles and trends, while ensuring compliance with Uniform Building By-Laws (or other local authorities and technical agencies requirements), integrating best sustainability and HSE practices, and effectively managing project costs.

Accountability & Responsibility

Property Services Department (PSD) In-house Projects:

  • Prepare concept design proposals to obtain end-user approval, utilizing tools such as schematic planning, visualizations, and material and furniture selections, based on existing drawings, end-user inputs, site visits/ assessments, and/or standardized designs. 
  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings and other documents for the QS to produce adequately accurate and complete project cost estimates.
  • Prepare tender drawings and other tender documents that are comprehensive and accurate. 
  • Complete all tasks within the given Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe.
  • Manage workloads among the Design Team (Architect, Draughtsman, M&E) or beyond (QS, PM, PMO).
  • Support Design Team and PMC Unit initiatives.
  • Providing design advise as required from within PSD.
  • Be responsive to design queries from end users and the Project Manager.
  • Address any issues related to design that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Highlight to end users, Project Manager, Head of Design Management, Lead PMC, or others of any non-compliances.

 

PSD Projects with External Consultants:

  • Review architectural design from external Consultants or Contractor as instructed by the Project Manager.
  • Be part of the evaluation team for design RFPs, tenders, etc.

Authority

  • Endorse/ approve material and sample submissions assessed against the tender specifications.
  • As per Limit of Authority

  • Completing work orders as per given Service Level Agreement timeframe
  • % VO on project due to design issues
  • REVIT/ BIM utilizations

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape, Interior Design or related field.
  • Knowledge of UBBL, BOMBA requirements, and building codes.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as an Architect
  • Part 2 in PAM/ RIBA (accredited Architectural Courses) is an added advantage
  • Experience working on development projects until CPC/ CCC is an added advantage
  • Ability to work using REVIT/ BIM
  • Ability to produce high-quality visualizations (using Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray and other design software)
