Requirement

• Malaysian citizenship
• Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Malaysian Vocational Certificate of Education (SPMV) with at least six (6) subjects, including a credit in Bahasa Malaysia and passes in the following subjects:
• English Language
• Mathematics
• Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Polytechnic or universities recognized by the Government through Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
• Willing to be assigned to any state across Peninsular Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak.
• Not more than 35 years of age on the closing date of the advertisement.
• Medically fit, with a Body Mass Index (BMI) not exceeding 30 and free from any chronic illness.
• Not color blind.
• Minimum five (5) years of working experience with at least two (2) years preference in construction project. Proven record in working with hydro power plant construction project would be an advantage.
• Familiar in supporting the Owner's Engineers and project team in managing key phases of the project lifecycle, including design review, construction oversight, and commissioning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist in coordinating with project stakeholders and resolving project-related challenges.
• Good understanding of civil & structural works, particularly those related to the powerhouse & structures in hydroelectric facilities, with experience in ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Basic understanding of regulatory and permitting processes relevant to hydroelectric projects is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of project management principles and experience supporting project execution.
• Knowledge of power plant engineering design principles, with the ability to interpret and support the development of technical specifications.
• Exposure to power plant design and engineering standards, particularly those relevant to hydroelectric plants.
• Awareness of hydro project lifecycle management, including key stages from planning through execution to project closure.
• Understanding of power plant technologies, operation, and maintenance (O&M) fundamentals, as well as relevant industry standards and practices.

Accountability & Responsibility

Secondment

• To be seconded to the Owner’s Engineer throughout project execution until project achieving Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Project Execution, Monitoring & Controlling

• Assist in consolidating and analyzing resource requirements to support the achievement of project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
• Provide practical support in monitoring the scheduling activities related to Civil – Powerhouse & Structure works.
• Assist in the review of engineering documents and technical specifications of Civil – Powerhouse & Structure portion including but not limited to powerhouse, control building, workshop buildings, etc. to ensure compliance with TNB standards and industry best practices.
• Perform routine monitoring of Civil – Powerhouse & Structure works by contractors, ensuring smooth implementation of Civil – Powerhouse & Structure works in accordance with the contract specifications and project requirements, escalating deviations or issues to the Senior Engineer/ Senior Manager as required.
• Participate in daily / monthly progress meeting to track project progress, documenting the discussion and distribute minute of meetings or progress reports to relevant parties.
• Support the assessment of construction program and assessment based on physical progress.
• Assist in issuing notices for minor deviations, Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) for signi􀏐icant deviations, and clear site instructions to address ambiguities.
• Collaborate with relevant personnel in resolving disputes and review and evaluate change order requests to ensure compliance.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and closely monitor critical tests related to Civil & Structural works to ensure compliance with project quality and standards.
• Provide inputs and necessary documentations required in the Quality Management System (QMS) prepared by the Owner’s Engineer / consultants.
• Conduct regular site inspections and verify progress to ensure compliance with contract requirements and identify any deviations as well as assisting in taking necessary corrective action.
• Support the verification of progress payments issued by consultants or contractors, adhering to agreed-upon timelines.
• Assist in implementing and reviewing risk control measures to mitigate risks related to Civil – Powerhouse & Structure works.
• Assist in reviewing the Civil – Powerhouse & Structure portion of the Quality Management System (QMS) prepared by the consultants to ensure compliance with agreed quality standards and performance requirements.

Accountability & Responsibility

Project Warranty & Closure

• Provide support in pre-handover inspection to identify and document all Civil & Structural defects (punch list items) especially for Civil – Powerhouse & Structure throughout the warranty liability period, ensuring that contractors take timely corrective action to address all identi􀏐ied defects.
• Assist the project team to prepare comprehensive project completion reports for Civil – Powerhouse & Structure, including as-built drawings, and ensure the timely approval of all required technical documentation.
• Provide support during the handing over process of the project technical portion to the O&M partner (i.e. Asset Operation & Maintenance and TNB REMACO) and coordinate the required training to the O&M personnel.
• Collaborate with the Project team in handing over of the plant technical portion, passing the documentation to the O&M partner, close of contracts, releasing staff and equipment.

• Ensure strict adherence to all internal HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures. Create and maintain a safe and conducive work environment. Promptly report any unsafeacts or conditions through the HSE wallet.

• Outside the Company / Group such as Owner’s Engineer, Consultants, EPCC Contractor, Local Authorities, Energy Commission, DOE, DOSH, BOMBA, and other Government Agencies.
